ALIPHOS Feed Phosphates

Pioneer in High Quality Feed Phosphates

Most of Aliphos® feed phosphates are manufactured in Ham (near Tessenderlo, in Belgium), using a proven procedure that yields a very pure dihydrate and crystalline dicalcium phosphate. This process commences with the dissolution of phosphate rock in hydrochloric acid, resulting in the formation of a monocalcium phosphate solution.

After purification, the dihydrated dicalcium phosphate crystals are precipitated. Dissolution is a gradual process, offering a number of advantages for animal feeding applications:

  • as a low temperature process it avoids the formation of biologically unavailable meta- and/or pyro- phosphates;

  • as a crystallisation process it ensures a very predictable composition and high purity of end products, virtually free of undesirable contaminants;

  • the hydrated crystalline structure is recognised to be nutritionally beneficial.

The resulting dicalcium phosphate is also used as an intermediate for the production of granulated phosphates by the addition of purified feed grade phosphoric acid. This is one of the reasons why Aliphos® feed phosphates enjoy wide spread use in the industry in Europe and have become a standard for animal feed phosphate quality.
